“Healthy Homes” in Guatemala

Reflections from our build and cultural activities in Panajachel, Guatemala: During our 9-day trip, our team helped to build “healthy home kits,” which included smokeless stoves, latrines, and water filters, alongside the recipient families and community.

Our trip was designed to immerse and educate: We worked alongside indigenous Mayan families and met women at weaving cooperatives where we became students of their craft and learned how they strengthen their livelihoods. Memories of Maya Mexico

Reflections from the Habitat build and cultural activities in Chiapas, Mexico: During our 9-day trip to Mexico, our team stayed in the historic city of San Cristobal de las Casas, located in the Central Highlands region of the country and considered the cultural capital of Chiapas.

Throughout the week, we helped build a house and renovate the walls, foundation, and floor alongside the recipient family who was of the indigenous group Tzotzil Maya. Views from Vibrant Vietnam

Reflections from the Habitat build and cultural activities in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam: During our 10-day trip to the southern Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap in Vietnam, our team built two brick homes alongside two recipient families within one close-knit community along the banks of the Mekong River. 

Our project focused on assisting low-income households affected by the impacts of climate change and natural disasters, like flooding.
